The SB21 Team was very excited to present at the ISTE 2017 summer conference in San Antonio, Tx. The ISTE conference marked the public release of the the LeaderShift 2020 professional learning series which provides prospective and practicing educational leaders throughout the globe with a comprehensive framework based on 6 pillars, 35 elements, and 229 indicators to foster the instructional leadership essential to promote modern schooling and, in turn, best prepare our students for their life and work in this unprecedented, complex and complicated world. As a means of practicing what we preach, the SB21 Team has also created and aligned a robust online collaborative community platform to support the LeaderShift team members across the globe.
Lastly, we are working on a PD2Degree professional development project with Lamar University and Ramapo College. The goal is to provide an opportunity for passionate educations to participate our LeaderShift program as a means to obtain professional development credits or for post graduate degree credits. Ian Jukes is the co-founder and Executive Director of the InfoSavvy Group, an international educational leadership consulting firm; and, together with his wife Nicky, a director of Springboard21, which provides education solutions across the global education landscape from K-12 to higher education. Ian has been a classroom teacher – teaching every grade from Kindergarten to Grade 12; a school, district, and provincial leader; a university professor; an award-winning author; an international consultant; and a keynote speaker.
To date, he has worked with clients in more than 80 countries and made more than 12,000 presentations. He typically travels between 150 and200 days a year and works with more than 250,000 people a year. He is the author or co-author of 17 books and 9 educational series. His most recent books include: Reinventing Learning for the Always-On Generation; Learning Without Classroom; Teaching the Digital Generation; Living on the Future Edge; Understanding the Digital Generation; Literacy Is Not Enough, and Getting It Right: Aligning Technology Initiatives for Measurable Student Results.
He is currently completing 4 new books on educational transformation including Leadershift: Renewing Schools for Modern Times; A Brief History of the Future of Education; Where IT Meets ET: The Place of Technology in Modern Learning; and Education in the Age of Disrupted Learning.
Ian was the creator of the highly successful TechWorks Technology Integration Model; the 21st Century Fluency Project; and is currently the catalyst behind the Springboard21 Diagnostic and Reporting Tool.
In keeping with modern times, Ian has created a vast digital library of educational resources and best practices that he freely shares with his many clients through his social media networks. He is also a great believer in paying things forward, and acts as a mentor to many other educational professionals, supporting them in writing books, developing workshops and presentations, and growing professionally.
Outside of education, he works with government agencies, the banking, medical, entertainment, and insurance industries, as well as with organizations and communities that have lost their market or economic base; and who wish to explore possibilities for preferred economic futures.
But first and foremost, Ian is a passionate educator. From the beginning, his focus has been on the compelling need to restructure our educational institutions so that they become relevant to the current and future needs of the digital generations – and to help students prepare themselves for their future and not just society’s past. Ian spends part of the year working out of his home in Vancouver; another part working out of his home in Auckland; and the remainder of the year traveling around the globe.
